The necessity of a bank account

People should not think about closing their bank account, because -even in this times of global financial crisis- it has more advantages than disadvantages. For example, a bank account is indispensable if you want to rent a property, when you need to be paid by your employer, or when you need an internet account. Even more, if you choose to pay in cash, some enterprises or shops may charge more than when you would pay by direct debit. Even people who don’t want to be part of the ‘banking culture’ should think about an account, at least it’s a proof of your ability to pay.
